Rarely do I dream at night

Perhaps because one of me is always awake

Dreams always elude me

But not last night

Last night I dreamed of him

He was cold and distant

Cruel and hurtful

It was like reliving the pain

Only it was worse

This time he said everything in the harshest way possible

It’s as if he was proving that he not only invaded my heart

But could invade my dreams

This is a stark contrast to the one who came before

The one who invaded my dreams with promises of love

How I wish for a deep dreamless sleep
