I remember

this is an old writing from my darker days at the end of a bad breakup

I remember the day I lost all hope

The day my heart was shattered again

The day he left me cold and broken

A familiar feeling

I’ve had it so often

I ask myself why I continue this quest

Why do I still pursue love?

Love hurts in the most painful way

Physical pain would be preferable to this all consuming pain

This pain that turns to hatred

This hatred that leads to violence

It’s a never ending cycle of pain and misery

And this is the course of my life

I liked this.. you painted a very clear picture of a painful breakup.. it's funny the insights we develop, the wisdom we gather long after the fact.. I bet as you look back over this poem and try to remember what you were going through, you probably thought to yourself... all this fuss over a silly break-up.. at the time, I am sure it was the most devastating period of you life.. thanks for sharing a little bit of you, with us.. well done!
