Ode to Dear ONE!

 

Yogesh! You were our mate

When you came in through this gate!

Spent those year-full days

In the freedom of our own ways.

 

Gradually, as time passed

As team-mates left and managers changed

A lot of knowledge that you learned

Recognition from peers that you earned!

 

Colleagues we all are, as people call

But in a company like this that we are in

“Friends” is the word you shall recall

Together we travelled, with all joy within

 

Together we saw new faces becoming friends

Coding and debugging was all the more fun

Because as a friend and a motivator, you our shotgun!

And this time saw us setting new-new trends!

 

There were events that might have been sad

As there were time of happiness and fun

The Tension Conductivity Index, that we never let to rise

As we were like a team, to everybody’s surprise!

 

Lots of late-night confs, and lots of loads

But, together were intertwined youtube and tweets!

Recession, and fears; and Hope and some hikes

We promise you’d remember all our special names!

 

And we all shall, with our hearts of joy

Wish you a future brighter than the brightest!

Higher you shall go with all dreams fulfilled n done…

And we shall remember you as the beloved Dear ONE!

One of my team-mates was leaving to join another company. I wrote this poem for him, while we bade him farewell. :) (I wrote this in 15 minutes... my fastest poem till date)
