Without Hesitation

Without Hesitation

A Poem by Brenda Sue
"

....out of the mouth of babes.

"

Sitting at my computer near tears.
Thoughts of how unfair were the past years
His voice I just need to hear
To feel around me the arms of my dear.
Overwhelmed with my flight.
He knew how to make me feel it was going to be alright.

My little girl just asked if we were going out today.
To be able to answer her I did pray.
I told her we were not going anywhere,
I didn't feel very well and so much despair
Is it the wind? asked my baby,
I told her that I just missed her Daddy.

Without hesitation, she told me not to worry.
When I die, I will see him again and not be to in a hurry.
So, there is no need to be sad. I just need to practice,
so I will get the hang of it. This she said was a promise.
She told me to look at her, she had learned not to be sad.
She said if I tried, I could probably do it to and not be mad.

For some reason, it felt like he was talking to me through her.
Through this little child God had sent me an answer.
There are miracles all around us, we just have to open our eyes.
Like the renewing life of the butterflies.
So here I am sitting at my computer without tears.
Thanking God for all the wonderful years.

I would definitely say, He WAS speaking to you. How beautiful. Isn't it amazing when it happens like that? I have found Him to use the most unlikely people to speak to us...:-) Thank you sharing such an intimate part of you, Brenda. Even being able to share is healing...

Though this little child
Did you mean "Through"
I didn't catch untill the second read.
I love this touching poem and I am glad that you had a way to express it so beautifully.

This is probably a lot of peoples favorite line. I know that it is mine.
"There are miracles all around us, we just have to open our eyes.
Like the renewing life of the butterflies."
It sums up what the child and God were trying to tell you.
Thanks for sharing something so intimate.

There's much sadness - hope and future, as a purpose in this.

It is marvelously written, and it is just beautiful.

This is very beautiful. I could put it in my anthology under the love heading if you are interested. I was hoping to find something from you fit into love, politics, and religion: the three that are one big argument.

I really like that thing as well.

You are right; there are little miracles all around us for those of us who can appreciate them. A very nice write.

You've done it again, this piece is beautiful! God provides comfort in many different ways, and sometimes even uses the voice of a child.

In the Bible it speaks of "out of the mouths of babes comes preordained..." I'm not able to quote word for word, I apologize. This is a very sweet and honest poem about your husband who passed away. Thank you so much for sharing such a personal and tender poem. This is very well written and will always capture your daughter's words, no matter how much time has passed.

"There are miracles all around us, we just have to open our eyes. Like the renewing life of the butterflies..." I like this line. I never thought of the change of a butterfly as a miraculous renewal, but definitely in a way I can see it as such.
