melancholy moon

melancholy moon

A Poem by autumnsky
"

apiece of thoughts that ran thru my head tonight as i drove home, a pale moon in the sky and a feeling of ending a somber summer and transitioning into autumn, a feeling of needing to express some emotions and thought i would take a moment to write.

"

Good evening, moon, whose pale beam lights the dusk.

A somber ending summer breeze whispers by.

A melancholy moment, melancholy moon.

Pensive feelings reeling, knowing that needed closure

might never come. The shedding of a few soft tears to douse

a flame. A flame whose flicker needs to be left to lie,

left to die, lest future's fate change time.

A sense of peace, though melancholy it be, under the pale moon's light.

Hands reaching out to touch the moon's beam,

the magic of moondust, the remnants of the flame,

now a bittersweet memory.

Good-bye, my friend.

Good-bye, my love.

Melancholy moment as the summer breeze stands still.

Good night, melancholy moon.

Good night.

Beautiful.

I can't help but wonder if you are saying Goodnight to the melancholy moon to get rid of the melancholy feelings... or to further exemplify the melancholy feelings themselves.

Nice piece.

I love melancholy writes...but this poem echoes so much more. Excellent write.
