Come and Play with me

Come and Play with me

A Poem by autumnsky
"

Writing recovery of a special thought of spending time with my love.

"

Looking outside the window

at the newly covered ground.

Covered in a white thick blanket,

not a footprint yet to ruin it's

pure beauty.

It calls to me, come and play,

come and enjoy, come and play....

I bundle up tightly, hardly able to

move from the layers of winter

wardrobe, boots, hat, and mittens.

I smile at my love, I call to him,

come and play,  come and enjoy,

come and play with me........

I laugh,  he looks as silly as myself

trying to maneuver his body in

winter bundling.

In the meanwhile, the snow

calls, come and play......

We play untimed in the cold,

sledding down the hillside,

his manly  foot track ruining

my girly snow angel. Snowballs

fighting as we become temporary

enemies.

Wet and frozen, noses red, we go

inside. Snuggling by the fire,

drinking our hot chocolate.....

I think, what a wonderful day, I played

with my very best friend in a winter

wonderland........

When I called, you came and played

with me...........

Smiling, I sip my hot chocolate......
