Heartbroken

Does it make you feel good to see me in a state?
To see me looking miserable and losing loads of weight?

Does it make you proud to see me so broken?
My heart full of hurt from all the words you've spoken?

Did it make you feel good when you cheated on me?
While I was at home waiting for you and cooking your tea?

Did it fill you with joy to know you had me trapped?
To know I was too scared, to ever answer back?

Did you mean it when you said that I had your heart?
Or was that all part of the plan, to tear my world apart?

Did you feel any guilt when you were doing all of this?
Knowing I was sitting at home in my ignorant bliss?

Do you ever stop and regret, everything you have done?
Now you see me giving up and trying to move on?

Do you realise that you can no longer control any part of me?
I'm so glad I woke up and set myself free!

This is one of two poems I've ever written after having a traumatic year I'm trying to gain strength by understanding the pain

After destruction there will always be a new dawn - you have overcome the hardest part I feel judging by your defiance here and your tone and the fact you are here and writing. I applaud you for that.

Thank you for this and pointing me in the direction of that poem. It actually gave me emotion which I find hard to extract from most poems. It touched me as I am very much about my self survival and keeping my mind focused on what I can achieve and trying to make my life positive after so much pain.
