Unnoticed

Unnoticed

A Poem by Biswajeet Samal

It was on an untrodden way,
Beside the spring bouncing.
A flower where no one had praise,
Vibrant in color.

A Violet near to mossy stone
Half hidden from vision,
Attractive but not appreciated
Just because it grew on cactus.

We just love rose and guns,
Combination of beauty and power is liked by all.
But alas for the cactus although it has thorns,
It's the only one to bloom in desert.....

Only one to bloom in the desert... Well, I must say, the imagery you put here is beyond imaginations. A lone plant's life and the lives of plants in a dense forest... Everything is so different. Uniqueness is what we find everywhere and here, you have put an excellent example about this.
.....
I'm glad reading this wonderful piece....

Hi Kevin, This is the kind of poem our great scottish poet Robert burns might have written. For example 'to a mouse' , finding a universal truth from nature. I admire your idea of the cactus and the violet but did you really mean to liken it to roses and guns. We certainly don't all love guns. If you could find a better analogy it would work better.
Regards,
Alan
