what is love?

what is love?

A Poem by Bisma Ayoub
"

Love u..

"
I was asked ; what is love?
And I was stuck ; what it is ?
A hundred million thoughts striking my mind
but still no idea what it is.
I don't know what is love but I do know that I
am in love.
So what it is like being in love?
I asked myself what it is?
"Love is more then a feeling"
"Love is something beyond explanation"
"Love is when your rules alter without
alletration"
"Love is more then a temptation"
"Love is the ultimate mode of stupidation"
"Love is the hearts direction"
"Love is in all those tribulations"
"Love is that different type of affection"
"Love is in gaining patience"
"Love is in setting free"
"Love is in commanding thee"
"Love is a passionate commitment"
"Love is the inner contentment"
Yet is it all ,what love is ?
Still stuck there , "what it is" ?

Overall, an enjoyable poem. But it's very repetitive once you start listing what is love, making it dense. Also, while some of the descriptions you give, such as "Love is the heart's direction" and "Love is in pationate commitment" are very nice and relatable, others such as "Love is in gaining patience" or "Love is in commanding thee" feel random and made up.
Your doubt about "What is love?" is also left on the side, and I didn't get to feel it, I know you have the doubt, but you didn't express it in a way that also made me feel your doubt.
You should check on the grammar. You are confusing "then" and "than", and you're writing some words in plural when you don't mean to (ex: "Love is the hearts direction" should be "Love is the heart's direction").
Enjoyable, but it could have been a lot more than what it just is. You can do better, keep it up.
A nice poem, nothing more.
