Pay the Ferryman

Pay the Ferryman

A Poem by Bipolarbear.979
"

Psych ward poetry

"

Two coins for the ferryman

Pressed down on closed eyes

Even in forever-sleep

The soul finds no rest

It continues an endless trudge

For what do we exist?

In life, in death,

A continuous flurry of movement

To go nowhere

The wonder has gone from the world

A society of instant gratification

And delayed punishment

An immediate return on your investment

Is nary two coins

To pay the ferryman
