Melting

Part of my Psych Ward Poetry

I dream of you

Your face haunting my nights

Every time I close my eyes

Parching my frosted existence

With flickering tongues of fire

That melt the icecaps

I’ve placed around my heart

Shards of icicles

Falling all around

Crashing into the flames

A musical hiss

In the deafening silence

Nightly I envision

Holding you in my arms

As we glide across the floor

A slow, rhythmic dance
