The Clear Glass Vase

I was going through a lot of conflicting emotions when I wrote this a few years back.

The clear glass vase stands

Empty of love like a broken heart,

But still shining reflectively upon life.

Sudden motions, movement;

Life shakes and turns

And the clear glass vase falls.

Shattered pieces of beauty

Lying restless in the sunlight,

And yet still shining so brightly

Though never to be filled with love.
