Wishin'

Wishin'

A Poem by Brittany_Rena

If you had one wish, what would would it be?
It could be a car, a new house, to be free.
I wouldn't wish for anything like that.
I certainly wouldn't wish for another kit-kat.
I'd wish for a better relationship with my dad.
Only sometimes can I not act mad.
I want different things to be there.
If only he was here my whole life to make things fair.
I can't imagine when my Dad is gone.
And all this time we only talked over the phone.
I barely heard your voice when all I got was a text.
That I had to send first, or I'd never meet the next.
Many things changed when she was in your life.
I didn't even know you made her your wife.
She's gone now and I always tried to tell you,
she will only be here for a few.
That's probably why I didn't hear from you
Or see you anytime soon.
In my eyes, you always seemed like it didn't bother
But to me i always asked, "Where's my father?"
Now that he's here and can make effort,
I stay nothing but very alert.
Still haven't heard a thing
Before I know it, there's gonna be a woman and a new ring.
