It is about my feeling about someone whom I trusted and later...

It was Nov, 2011. After a successful major operation, my mother was admitted again in the same hospital but this time it was a fracture in her right leg.

Doc told me that she needs to go through a surgery. We were not having any option so we admitted her in the hospital on 25th November 2011, 27th birthday of my younger brother. 26th November she was supposed to get operated but due to some chest infection in x ray, docs sent her back to the ward and told her that we will go for the tests again n if found everything ok, we will operate.

They operated… everything was smooth. I met mom on operating table, she was fine and was aware of her surgery and the process. They shifted her to ICU for one night as she had been diabetic and was also having the blood pressure issues. I thanked God that everything went smooth. Now the time was of her recovery. The most awaited moments were about to come. We were desperately waiting for the days to pass on. I started living the moment that my mother is cooking in kitchen and I am lucky enough to get the most delicious food of my life.  Food cooked by my mom. Earlier to this operation she was not able to do any standing work due to the pain in her knees.

As per doctor’s instruction I was told to arrange one unit blood. I called up one of my best buddy Mukesh to check if he can donate.

Me: hi, mom needs one unit blood. Can you?
Mukesh: ya I am coming there in half hour. I will come along one friend of mine, in case you need two units.
Me: thanx. I ll be waiting.

Around 7 pm I saw him at the gate. After general greetings, he went for some normal checkups. He donated blood and we went outside ICU. I asked guard about doctor’s visit and he told me that doctor is already in. We waited outside for the doc. After her check up, he came out and told everything is fine and they will shift her in ward in morning.

Morning 2:30 am. I got a call. Are you attendant of Mrs. Bimla? I replied, yes. Other side: Doctor is calling you in ICU. I rushed towards ICU. I thought they might need some medicine, which I need to bring from the medical store inside the hospital.

I reached there and asked doctor the reason. Suddenly I noticed that all the members of ICU were near mom’s bed. I was scared. Doc told me that they called me up to sign some documents as your patient’s heart was not working. We had to take an action of putting her on ventilator. I was shocked and speechless. This was something unexpected. Last night around eleven I met my mom in ICU; she was absolutely fine and was worried that how we will manage to be outside ICU for the whole night. She instructed me to go home and I assured her that I ll leave you don’t worry and now this ???

Still I was having faith in that supreme power that he would not do anything worse.
