People-Mart

People-Mart

A Chapter by melissa
"

People-Mart is now open!

"

hear-ye! hear-ye!
welcome to our grand opening!
people-mart is now in operation!
come, join me...
i'll show you aisle three!
here to our left we have young hopefuls..
their skin is soft,
their eyes are innocent,
their hearts are free!
eager to please,
true to a fault,
loyal beyond call...
best-bargain for those seeking an easy purchase!

In aisle nine
we have young realists
their skin is soft
their eyes know intent,
their hearts are a maze,
eager to know,
still true,
loyal if it's due,
fantastic buy if you can prove your worth!

:CLEANUP IN AISLE THIRTEEN:
Oh, dear shall we meet
our jaded souls in aisle thirteen?
Their skin is soft
their eyes know deceit
their hearts are messy or on leave
eager to avenge
true because they have nothing to lose
loyal to their loins,
great for window-shoppers,
unless you seek an impossible challenge

Turn the corner and behold
the experienced folks in aisle 16
Their skin is tough
Their eyes seek beauty
their hearts are completely under their control
eager to live!
true to those who deserve their energy
loyal to those who gain their trust
These my dearest customers
are not for sale...
They are obtainable only by mail - order
and the only price you pay
is the time you must wait...
they will select you
if you have enough patience
and they deem you worthy
you just might walk down the path of life
with our most valuable merchandise!

Beautiful sentiment, with a slight, eliteist undertone. It's like something I can imagine a harsh, grizzled elderly man enjoying(Provided that he would be willing to give some young whipper-snapper a chance).
Regardless, the first two stanzas were nice. The third, however started to get a little preachy, and the last? I feel guilty for being young.
