Holding Heaven

Holding Heaven

A Poem by Footprints al carbon

     When I write a poem,
     my mind finds a place
     to aim all its focus,
     to unwind its space;

     As if I had something
     beyond the tiring race,
     as if there was somewhere
     towards which we could face;

     Where the sun goes ahead
     and we spin in its grace,
     with the moon in pursuit
     all dressed up in lace;

     The stars all around us
     stand still in the case
     that holds all the heavens
     for a queen and her ace;

     Stand here and behold it
     these words can't keep pace
     to form this existence
     to convey this embrace.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
