Memories in Place

Memories in Place

A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

You can't escape what you can't reach. You can't become what you already are.

"
Deep in dark archives of time,
     under waves of the rolling sand,
     swaying unnoticed in caves of refuge,
     pulsing in unison on shifting seas;

Dust accumulated from another season,
     winds of time pushed solemnly ahead,
     vintage gems from days forgotten,
     the kind that have the sharpest edge;

All it takes is the call of whisper,
     the kinetic cause of time exposed,
     a glint of shimmer has gone abysmal,
     like a spark of light in sunset's glow;

Nudge of fame in a timeless moment,
     wishes grasped from below the knees,
     a weight so stout it failed to notice,
     the tether that keeps your mind in peace;

The rank of memory - a long endeavor,
     when to discover a treasured place,
     the kind of frame that's long been standing,
     the kind that holds your smiling face.

I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
