Within Reach

Within Reach

A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

No stretching required, just strength.

"
Life is a gift, they say;
Wake up early, they prescribe;
Have a routine, they tell;
Let go of the past, they instruct;
See the glass half full, they proclaim;
Hope for the best, they guide;
Take the first step, they speak like believers:
     someone once did it, so can you;

     If you believe it, you can do it;

Only let go of those things:
     those heavy burdens,
     those concrete shoes,
     those ropes and chains,
     those stumbling blocks,
     those unbreakable locks,
Let go of those things that steady your position,
     those things that hold you back,
     those things that reduce the terror,
     those things that promote complacency,
     those things that keep you stuck in a dream,
     those things that keep you asleep and withdrawn,
Choose a different grasping point,
     one above where you are now,
     but still within your reach;
Grab onto that opportunity and pull yourself up.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
