Song Sung So Sweetly

Song Sung So Sweetly

A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

Sing! Help us to remember.

"
Sing, little songbird!
Sit on your twig and sing!

Sing of cold nights and the warm afternoon.
Sing of wet springs and of fire in June.
Sing as your pattering heart will compel
let go of your song in emotional swell.

In the still air of sky,
  draw out your deepest soul,
  let your song fly!

Sing of who you are longing to meet,
Sing of another whose terror you greet.
Sing of a time when wind led you astray,
Sing of your sight when high and away.
Sing of the grub that you ate in the morn,
Sing of the wildcat who eyes you in scorn.

Let your song ring as we greet you in kind,
and remind us in song of a moment we find,
to reflect on your tune as it carries on air,
help us remember the melody we share.

Let your song be heard at the breaking of day
and repeat it at noon with small shadows at play.

Sing, little bird without any fear,
For some passing soul may stop and will hear.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
