Looking Out For What's In

Looking Out For What's In

A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

Halfway there: a new take on the glass in question

"
What is appearance really?
What does the optimist or the pessimist see?
When does reason become clear,
  about why we're here?

After all is said and done,
aren't we just a social media?
Did we get tangled in the world wide web
simply to become a divided bit?

As one salvation sets in the West,
another new day arrives in the East.
In chasing the ball of fire across the sky,
have we kindled an unquenchable flame?

More of us should hear the good news of silence,
  and sit within the sanctuary of thought;
To observe the nest of the twittering lark,
or to chase the endless ambition of the spark.

For what disappears was once certainly real,
and what is recalled besides the experience of life?
As the the undefinable cup begs to be known:
to get lighter as it is emptied,
and enlightened as it is filled.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
