After the Fall

After the Fall

A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

Winter arrives, and then spring.

"
After a brief once and for all,
Before all is one for one,
Here in the ever once was,
Yielding to the always will be;

Clutching to the here and now,
Watching the shadow of then,
Beginning the once upon a time,
Each day with a how do you do?

Sitting in wonder about when,
Contemplating the cause of it all,
Working some but not on the way,
More of a stroll on the dock of the bay;

Outside are the movements of will,
Inside are the hot embers of me,
Smoking in the cool winter air,
Heat rising and mixing to leave;

After all is said and done,
Beyond the great unknown,
Awaits a day not unlike this,
Where the tallest of tales are heard,
And slumber is not to be missed.

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
