Worthless Weight

Worthless Weight

A Poem by Footprints al carbon
"

What's holding you back?

"
Doors are opened and doors are closed,
When one thing's embraced, another's opposed;

One with devotion will go down with the ship,
Another sinks also with his treasure in grip;

In day after day the wild nature will dwindle,
Not knowing the fire which eternity will kindle;

To know a right feeling by instinct or gut,
Upon walking right through it the moment is shut;

Days seem to get worse with speedy arrival,
Soon will we see the dark night of survival?

When one is for one and what's left behind,
Like the grain and the chaff being readied for grind;

The world threshes all with no account of creed,
Yet every stable system resents only greed;

They say love can save us but what's there beside?
Is there room in the coffin to hitch up and ride?

When every moment is taken just as it's intended,
Let it have color from a spectrum that's blended;

When I soon see that I'm chasing the wind,
Will that be my moment to set sail and begin?

About
I'm a part time poet, usually during waking hours. An idea must be fed and put to bed in harmonic frequency as to the sun moving about the sky. Poetry is exhausting so burn clean my peoples. more..
