A Story by bimbimbap

Loraleigh tapped her feet on the ground with boredom. Patience was never a virtue for her. She hated to wait, unless it was for her boyfriend. Edward, was not her boyfriend.
"Sorry," Edward apologised as he rushed up to her. "It took a little while but here it is." He passed her the flash drive that she tucked under her arm. "Thanks," she said as she balanced all the files she was carrying in her hand.
"Do you need help with that?" Edward asked, watching her struggle with all the load.
"Oh its alright," Loraleigh smiled. "See you around."
Edward watched her as she rushed off, feeling an ache in his chest. He remembered those times they spent together, when he asked her out, when they held hands. Past is past, he told himself as he shook off those memories.
A few days passed, but Edward still thought about Loraleigh. It was unusual for him to feel so hung up over anyone. He sent her a text, asking how was the video montage going. She replied that she was unsure of timings and fades, and Edward sensed an opportunity. He rushed over to help her.
"I can't get this part to be over here," Loraleigh frowned.
"Let me see," Edward said as he sat close to her, attention on the laptop. Yet his eyes lingered to her face, those dimples that he used to stare at when she smiled. Loraleigh glanced at Edward, and shifted his focus back to the video.
"Oh here it is!" Loraleigh's hand bumped into Edward's, and she immediately retracted her hand. "Sorry," she said. Edward blushed. "It's alright."
He could not take it anymore. "Lora, would you... want to go out with me, for dinner, sometime?"
Loraleigh turned to him slowly. "Like a date?"
"Umm.... yeah. Or just dinner, you know." Hope arose in his chest.
"Eddie, we.... We've done this before, and it ended. You ended it, remember?" Loraleigh asked, a puzzled look on her face. Her eyebrows were knit together, Edward could tell she was unhappy.
"I know, but I was unsure back then."
"You told me you weren't sure when you started it. You're probably not sure now." Loraleigh packed her bag.
"Lora, please."
"Don't do this to me Edward. I'll do this video myself and send it to you." Loraleigh picked up her laptop and stalked off.
Edward sighed with regret. Why did he end it back then?

I liked this piece about Edward and Loraleigh, I would liketo get to know more about the 2 people. I felt the chemistry and denial between the 2 and I do but ask myself about what has gone on in their past, and why has it come to them just been friends (for now)
I can see things which need to be added to this piece BUT in no way does it take way what an intriguing piece you have put out for me to have read. The structure is solid and the reader will have a clear understading of what is going on.
Bring on the next chapter.

Mark.
