The Kiss

The Kiss

A Poem by William Teague
"

Inspired in part by, Gustav Klimt's The Kiss

"

Before you approach, let me warn you, my intentions are deep.

For countless times I have seen you like no other has.

When wills shatter like broken glass;

reflections in your eyes show my hands pick up the pieces.

Only truth clearly sees your beauty, and only my eyes clearly see your truth.

For the breath of our spirits kiss, afterward ever still.

A warning before a kiss. Well I guess that means we should walk into this encounter with clear intentions. A kiss is often mundane..but you add in fair warning...and anxiety creeps in...one doesn't know what to expect!
