The Road

The Road

A Poem by Billy Van
"

Don't give up hope!

"

We are nothing more

Than a vision He awakes.

Shadows cast before

Another man’s mistakes.

A plot for His journal;

A sought for His vision.

But when we’re brought together

We create demolition.

When we meet our maker

What answer must we give

When we’re asked the question:

How wholesome did you live?

The answer is “I didn’t”.

We are a part

Of the same destination,

One road that leads

To hope and restoration.

But if we don’t join together

The road will no longer be,

Which means anger for Him

And repercussions for you and me!

The road is long

But worth every minute.

You must enjoy the scenery

And not take it for granite.

Heaven awaits

Beyond the dire straits.

I wrote this on a whim. The song Soleado inspired me.

I dont' think I eer heard that sone...you expressed good thoughts...

In the third line fromthe end us use the word "granite" when I think you meant "granted"...but the term "granite" gives the poem a fresh perspective...
