If Only I Could Touch You

If Only I Could Touch You

A Poem by Billy Van
"

From Paramour

"

If only I could touch you one last time,

Give to you one last rhyme,

Like a ghost, my words would stay,

But I would only get in the way.

Please remember me,

As days and years go by.

You are like an angel

And I must let my angel fly.

Love is sometimes funny;

It picks you up when you are down.

But sometimes it punches you in the face

’Cause you’re safer on the ground.

I will always love you,

And I would love to give you more.

You are like a masterpiece

But the cost I can’t afford.
