SIX FRANTIC DAYS

SIX FRANTIC DAYS

A Poem by Bill Grimes Jr.
"

I wonder where she wanders to..........

"

August 2011

Mad dash through DFW

Stone Power Pimping

Giving it all I got

Praying not to miss the boarded flight

Time zone tripping

GPS ripping

Seven States in six frantic days

Crushing Jet Lag haze

Washington DCA

Mirror polished floors

Political w****s

Capitalistic scores

Distinct click and clack

Of opulent footwear

Strutting down the tarmac

The Democratic Cheerleader

So full of his power broker ego

His well heeled snakeskin boots

Making ever sure

That we all heard his cell phone filibuster

His lack of street smart luster

Myriad of facial expressions

Cautious eye contact

So many acts of random kindness

My favorites are the children

Vast rainbow of innocence

Such welcomed reprieve

From the hectic corporate chase

Fine Bohemian Lady

Barefoot and floating

Like a sweet Magnolia fragrance

Seducing my senses

I wonder where she wanders to

I smile in silent awe

Of her magic sultry vibe

As I seek a new tribe

Wheeling West Virginia

God’s master craft

Incredible splendor

MY

How they make me feel so small

In His mighty Kingdom Hall

“The Iceman” Chuck Liddell

Quality fist bump

One I shall always remember

His noble silent strength

Genuine sincerity

Epitome

Of a World Champ as he should be

I thank Almighty God

For my focus on the quality

Of sacred human contact

Once strangers

Now my Brothers

The cautious

Now relaxed

As steep walls of trepidation

Crumble

In joyful resignation

So only kindred spirit remains

Camaraderie

Thunders through my veins

Tomorrow

I make a trek to Nashville

If I’m destined to awake

Another Pony Dance

Robotic happenstance

Spiritual trance

And I smile……….
