SIX FRANTIC DAYSA Poem by Bill Grimes Jr.I wonder where she wanders to..........August 2011 Mad dash through DFW Stone Power Pimping Giving it all I got Praying not to miss the boarded flight Time zone tripping GPS ripping Seven States in six frantic days Crushing Jet Lag haze Washington DCA Mirror polished floors Political w****s Capitalistic scores Distinct click and clack Of opulent footwear Strutting down the tarmac The Democratic Cheerleader So full of his power broker ego His well heeled snakeskin boots Making ever sure That we all heard his cell phone filibuster His lack of street smart luster Myriad of facial expressions Cautious eye contact So many acts of random kindness My favorites are the children Vast rainbow of innocence Such welcomed reprieve From the hectic corporate chase Fine Bohemian Lady Barefoot and floating Like a sweet Magnolia fragrance Seducing my senses I wonder where she wanders to I smile in silent awe Of her magic sultry vibe As I seek a new tribe Wheeling West Virginia God’s master craft Incredible splendor MY How they make me feel so small In His mighty Kingdom Hall “The Iceman” Chuck Liddell Quality fist bump One I shall always remember His noble silent strength Genuine sincerity Epitome Of a World Champ as he should be I thank Almighty God For my focus on the quality Of sacred human contact Once strangers Now my Brothers The cautious Now relaxed As steep walls of trepidation Crumble In joyful resignation So only kindred spirit remains Camaraderie Thunders through my veins Tomorrow I make a trek to Nashville If I’m destined to awake Another Pony Dance Robotic happenstance Spiritual trance And I smile………. © Bill Grimes Jr. 2011 © 2011 Bill Grimes Jr. |
