Good morning Mother

Good morning Mother

A Poem by bill angell
"

greeting the Earth on a new morning

"
Good morning Mother

Good morning Mother

            your face bathed in red

As over the horizon

your lover lifts his kingly head.

Good morning Father

            a generous King are thee,

To spread your magic light

            upon every rock and tree.

No thank you, Mother,

            I care not to dine

I have partaken

            of your fruited vine.

I must depart early

            and journey long,

An evil and perilous plague

            threatens Natures song

I must inform my brothers and sisters

of the task to be done

By all the children

of Mother Earth and Father Sun.

We must cleanse your majestic streams,

that your magic waters might flow

From mountains high

            to valleys below.

We must restore your precious body

            and clear the poisons deposited there;

We must cleanse the toxins and pollutants

            from the air.

This is only a fragment

of the urgent task to be done

By all the children

of Mother Earth and Father Sun.

Good evening Mother,

            your face bathed in red

By your lover as he

            lays down his kingly head.

Good night Father

            may you peacefully sleep

While we below

            our vigilance keep.

Our mission merely started

            our assignment just begun,

a terrible burden lies upon us

there is much to be done.

Now more than ever

is the time for us to act as one

All the children

of Mother Earth and Father Sun!
