As a person

As a person

A Poem by Hannah Davenport

My life has been a

series of awkward

conversations

tension mounting with

each strained breath

lips swollen by

boorish youth

teeth clicking -- a

runaway train carrying

ambiguous news

It will culminate, I fear,

in misinterpretation and

my answers will escape

into death
