Bring back that sparkle

Just a little poem about the power of eyes.

 

Engulfed in darkness

Since you looked away,

Bathed in the blackness

During night and day.

 

The light now a dream

Seems so far now lost,

I made such mistakes

At such a high cost.

 

When your eyes glittered

My life was complete,

Since glitter faded

I lie in defeat.

 

The walls closing in

Demons haunting me,

This dark room of fear

Just won’t let me be.

 

Trying to climb walls

That seem made of mud,

I slip and I fall

And land with a thud.

 

I lie looking up

And I start to pray,

That the light returns

For my eyes someday.

 

Remember our love

I pray that you will,

So glitter returns

And I get my fill.

 

The light from your eyes

That glitter I love,

Will make my heart soar

To heavens above.

 

The power of eyes

The glitter the glow,

Makes my heart blossom

And my true love show.
