Departure

Departure

A Poem by David Chavez

Departure

A flagpole in the sand detained by understanding
Simply washed by the wild call into the forest
Mother ship is drawn and amazed only to be destroyed
Cold and flustered the flagpole listens
Vibration and twisted agenda to the climax.
New order at hand the past is forgotten,
Mesmerizing cries beauty is lost,
I listen and try to forget,
The unquestioned thoughts in my mind.
Blinking and feint shocked to the core,
Only above a dove flies by,
My spirit reawakened shortly after,
Finally with her I soar through the sand!
