I can't see....

just read.

When I tried to see the good in the world

I couldn’t

When I tried to make a change they said

“I shouldn’t”

 

They told me since I didn’t like what I saw

To just take out my eyes

So I did and they were right

To my surprise

 

I don’t see a thing

No bad and no good

I wish I didn’t do it

But I knew I should

 

I’m the only one that thought it

And now I think like them

I showed them how evil I could be

But they said it was a sin

 

So now, I am eyeless

I can’t see a thing

I can’t see the positives or negatives

I can’t see the bling

 

They locked me this building

And told me to wrap my eyes

They told me to keep my mouth shut

So the kids can’t hear my cries

 

When I’m done, I hope they let me out

Even though I still can’t see

At least I won’t be trapped

At least I will be free

Gooood writing. I like the rhyming, except in the second stanza. When I read this poem, I think of that saying "See no evil."
