Portal of ServiceA Poem by bigfootprintSoon we witness our good works redeemedWisdom of age is but gift to serve man, As portal of service to greater good, We each fit blindly into heaven's plan, Driven to help spread joy as angels would. Then we know our place in the mortal scheme, Where we can see pain or adversity, To respond with charity and mercy. Soon we witness our good works redeemed. Good friends regale me in levity loud, No family to stroke my hand and brow. Dear ones gone, tested or unavowed, Array in images soft as airy clouds. I will visit them soon, assured by faith. Gifting my best to God, the rest to dust. Soon I erase life's lines from my face, To dwell forever in God's love and trust.
