A Season of Love

A Season of Love

A Poem by bigfootprint
"

Christian church hymn, intended for the Christmas season

"

Based on the music for “Peace in the Valley,”  “In the Garden,”  and “Why Me, Lord”)

Our voices we raise to thy countenance above

We sing to the power of thy precious son

Such comfort thy promise of everlasting love

And our place in heaven when Earth days are done

You promised our loved ones will be waiting there

Please hear our prayers for all suffering

May God bless our gift of this offering.

So holy, the echoes of jubilance ring

The carols and church bells and invocations

Our prayers of thanks for thy blessings we sing

May thy love touch sad hearts of all the nations

And angels bring comfort to men everywhere

Let our hearts rejoice at heavenly grace

And lost souls, may thy love forever embrace

As we faithful go forth in this season bright

May showers of blessings shine forth with thy light

May all suffering souls find favor in thy sight

We pray all may rest in thy grace and might

Let bringers of evil in this life beware

And lost souls, may thy love forever embrace.

Let our hearts rejoice at heavenly grace

And lost souls, may thy love forever embrace

I sat down to write a Christmas carol. Failing that I tried to write a hymn. Not sure if I succeeded, but I really like hearing other sing it.

Hello Doug. I can imagine your words being sung. Not by me because I can't sing a note in tune. I think you have written a most uplifting song of praise to our Lord here, which will have wide appeal. A wonderful message of love conveyed and I thank you for that.
