The begrudging stones of man

The begrudging stones of man

A Poem by The Elder Pine
"

A rondeau for Apollonia

"

The begrudging stones of man overcast
Taking president as their grudges out last
Breaking the bonds of connection
A persistent erection presiding
The blast comes in turn

Spurned by a subjective reality
A one sided prison-duality reigning
A qualm Instigated by condescending inflection of voice
The begrudging stones of man overcast

As woman’s needs become the past
And tangents of pride become vast
Unchecked-a winding road without direction
As love loses protection
Stubborn a*s stands steadfast
The begrudging stones of man overcast

My dear...this is an exceptional piece. You vividly describe my current situation
as though you are right here with me. Love is the greatest gift but it can
quickly become a monster when indifference takes over where the promises
leave off and we are left shocked and unprotected. Thank you for this brilliant
rondeau. It will be among my favorites, and it's title will rest upon my page.

Your stuff is always so deep and pertinent. To me, the thinnest skin of the surface only appears to be about male/female relationships, but the deepest resonance is about mankind abandoning its responsibilities, especially the clever use of the word "president" instead of precedent. How apropos ! Touche'.
