Gull and gobble

Gull and gobble

A Poem by The Elder Pine

A million miles away
Upon an isle distant and gray
Lies-A whale distended
Full of dismay

Backing in the sun
A raisin under gun-the knife
Drying and sinking away

Gulls calling-falling!
Descending-Come whatever
Whatever may-
Come my way
Day of Yule tidings
Dawn of the day-Call!

The blunt truth
The beak of the beast
Nibbling at the flesh
Strands of eternity downed
As the raison whale shrivels-
Further, away from the sea
A shining site
Being not to be
Any longer
Any stronger
Come Along
Whatever came?-
Washed my way

A REALLY touching and compelling piece...there is so much said in these lines and I am glad to have come across it. Life is such a precious gift yet it's wasted "away." Excellent write, my friend :)
