The Young Old

The Young Old

A Poem by Bigbear3604

How do you stay young
When your body grows old
Don’t let your song be unsung
Or your morals sold

To see each day as the start
Never as the finish
To stay young at heart
And Juvenescence never diminish

To still enjoy simplicity
And never lose our innocence
To feel the spark of electricity
To forget our commonsense

To let our eyes not be critical
But full of acceptance, love, and care
To not by the cover of the book be analytical
With others be just and fair

To find oneself again
Having careless fun
Free of all ones pain
All the worries shun

For the years matter not
With the age of heart and mind
Better days not forgot
Because of the memories we find
