I Sleep Alittle More Each Day Until I Sleep Evermore

I Sleep Alittle More Each Day Until I Sleep Evermore

A Poem by Bigbear3604
"

People grow older, their bodies grow tired, and they sleep alittle longer each day. One day they will keep on sleeping and never wake up.

"

I did not go to sleep tonight

I grabbed a keg instead

To party, love and fight

I can sleep when I am dead

I have gotten alittle older it seems

I have too much of that responsibility

I am too old for party themes

and I have lost my invincibility

On my chin hair has grown

for many a year past

I've toiled just to be known

Everyday until light's last

I have seen many of a crescent

and watched my hair grow gray

from the past until the present

just another sad lonely day

I lie in bed asleeping

alittle more each day

I lye in bed aweeping

until my eyes close and I sail away

It is my ending breath

I sigh a hardy sigh

I cry no more tears in death

It is a noble death to die

Author's Note

Bigbear3604
It is a sad poem indeed... I am a bit philosophical in the way that I often contemplate the complexity and meaning of life.
