'L': Number Five

'L': Number Five

A Chapter by Kyari Hasutto

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. In one week, you'll be married.

And I don't feel too strange about it.

Yes, it's weird that someone you've known for a long time is getting married. That's easy enough to get over.

You see, I stopped being truly attached to you my freshman year--your junior year, when you had your first serious boyfriend. You clung to him, and honestly, you weren't there for me when I needed help in my disagreements with your brother. I tried to be there for you, but you didn't want me there. So I broke away from you. Yeah, I still enjoyed hanging out with you, but after that year, I tried to find my own friends. I do have to thank you, though. That mistake of dating him taught me so much, including why I shouldn't steady date so young.

End of your senior year brought your next serious relationship. It went great until you guys had to break up so you could go to college. I do have to say, you were great for him. He joined the church, and is now working off his debts to go on a mission. Perhaps that's why you were brought into each others lives.

This past Christmas I saw a glimpse at the former L, but by March, she was gone, taken with what is to be the final guy. I know you've learned a lot, and through you experiencing it, I've learned it too.

Thanks for the lessons.
