I don't understand it. What is the strange compulsion that keeps you texting while I'm in front of you talking to you. Nearly every time, that's the case. There is no need to carry on a conversation with someone else that can wait. That's the point of texting. It allows the conversants to respond when it's convenient for them. Otherwise you could just call them. Please, from now on, don't text while talking.
