'Tal': Number Nine

'Tal': Number Nine

A Chapter by Kyari Hasutto

I think I've been kidding myself. I don't have a best friend, at least not here.

You're just a friend now, albeit one that I've known for a long time. Why, you ask, have you received a demotion?

You don't care. When I accidentally hit your car, there was damage done to mine, and it's my responsibility to fix. You shrugged it off, saying, "It's nothing to worry about." You only said that because there were no issues with you or your car. When I have a hard time, you don't seem to really want to know because you care about making me happier: there's some other reason.

But you're still a friend. I finally made you laugh today, something that I rarely get the chance to do.

Tal, you were my best friend because you were a constant, but that's not the only thing a best friend needs to be.
