'Tal': Number Three

'Tal': Number Three

A Chapter by Kyari Hasutto

I know you like her. You're asking her to the dance, and it's not just because she likes you.

What you have planned to ask her is extremely sweet, and something I know she'll love.

The most I've ever gotten from you was a reluctant hug and an antique bronze swan, both while slightly appreciated, never struck me as sweet.

I hate to admit it, but I'm jealous. I'm jealous of how well you treat her, despite knowing her for three months. I'm jealous that you're already giving her more attention than you've given me.

I was going to get you a Christmas present this year, but I've already given the best gift I can give, and you've refused it. I've given you my friendship.

I'm not asking for things, but really, I'm asking for friendship in return. I feel like you're my best friend, but I'm not yours...I don't even feel close. I almost feel like an acquaintance except for the fact that we've known each other a long time.

Tal, I'm jealous that you are treating her better than you've ever treated me. But I'm trying, I really am, to not care.
