Snowing Softly

Snowing Softly

A Poem by Kyari Hasutto

Snow falls gently--gently, softly
On red upon a green-ed ground
Hiding shades of dark'ning sorrow--
Making not a single sound

The pieces scattered on the grass--
Like peddler's o'er turned cart--
All dead and broken--none still moving
They all lack a beating heart

One last fleeting glance revealing
Fractured dreams--nothing more--
'Till the solace of the everlasting
Death, knocking at the battered door

Snow drifts softly--oh, so softly
Covering footsteps tracked in lore
Snow so softly--falling down
Will Death's ease be found once more?

I got bored in English class when we were talking about the Civil War.

How's my first attempt at more formal poetry?

Fragile tone almost and it reminded me of the "Raven" by Edgar Allen Poe which added more appeal, luved the reiterating because it drew more importance to the words;)

For a first attempt at more formal poetry it is very well done. The meter is a little off in some places, but your word choice was done amazingly well. Can't wait to see how you improve from here!
