Christmas RememberedA Poem by Bobbie Coelho
Jingle bells, and winter smells
Crowded shops, people buying lots Holly and ivy sold Just as in times of old Brimming pubs, full of Christmas cheer Becoming more so with each glass of beer Christmas Eve, children try to sleep But wait expectantly: they so want to peep At Santa piling presents in a heap Santa arrives at last on his sleigh Whizzing around the world in one day All the good girls and boys Can’t wait to play with their toys Peace on earth, virgin birth Angel singing holy verse While opening gifts beside the tree Tell me, if you please, Does anyone ever remember when A star guided three wise men So they could kneel before a newborn boy Who came to fill our lives with joy? © 2014 Bobbie CoelhoReviews
