Son

Son

A Poem by Bobbie Coelho

Saved

By a heartbeat
Like an undisciplined drum
Measuring the rhythm
Bringing him back to life
As the monitor, recording all
The highs and lows
Gave a massive leap
Of ecstatic joy

It comforted the solitary pair
Silent sentries by his bed
Their dreams silently sinking
Willing their son to live
But in a nanosecond
Their mood soaring
From despair to happiness regained

They didn’t pray in vain
Their son had come back again
And he was here

To stat

The joy could be felt deeply inside of these two.....excellent write Bobbie

This poem is very finely executed, Bobbie. However, its content must have been a truly terrible time of waiting and praying. As you say, 'From despair to happiness regained' Your poetry's always inspiring, thank you, yet again. (You)

Thank you for this review and sorry that I haven't been on for a while
the eternal devotion of parents so well expressed. This is beautiful!
