Germany

A Poem by Bobbie Coelho

In another life I was here
Another age, strange, yet vaguely familiar
Half remembered days,
of nightmares trying to take shape
That once nearly swallowed me whole
Loneliness revisited
Those days have gone
But still keep knocking
Like the unwelcome visitor
popping up unexpectedly at New Year
But you try not to hear
And you think of today
Loneliness gone, happiness regained

And that's just what buried memories do... pop up unexpectedly, as we endeavor to focus on the moment.

' That once nearly swallowed me whole ~ Loneliness revisited ' .. i guess too many of us have a place we're drawn to for the right or wrong reasons. So hard to stay away, to obliterate from one's memory .. but seems there is only one answer .. to regain happiness.. however painful. Dear you, this is a fragile poem, birthed from more than just words. (YOU)
