The Mother, The Child

The Mother, The Child

A Poem by Bobbie Coelho

I used to think when a mother had passed over
The holding chain on the anchor of life
which held you tight
Had forever gone
But I am so wrong!. Oh so wrong!
Nothing wipes that bond which starts at birth
With a mother’s  wondering look
At her perfect child
As she traces the face of the
Most talented babe ever to walk the earth
The bond that unites both
Mother and child will always be
So strong
They may cut the birth cord
But the job has been done by then
Nothing can break it
Not even death

The anchor just sinks further down
Into the loved one’s breast
Ready to offer support and help
At the child’s behest
The love that nothing can move
Is heaven blest.

a mother truly is that best angel, that we come from on this earth:)
she does everything for us, from starting to end...and supports us every second:)
everything that i list here for these incredible ladies,
will finally be nothing when compared to their virtuous, and immense beauty:)

you did an incredible job writing this..
i comletely loved this poem:)
very well done:)

and these lines were just greart

"They may cut the birth cord
But the job has been done by then
Nothing can break it
Not even death"

The anchor just sinks further down
Into the loved one’s breast
Ready to offer support and help
At the child’s behest
The love that nothing can move
Is heaven blest."

what else except this could define the beautiful bond..!!

happy writing:)
best wishes
saumya:)

you r highly welcomed dear:) good to know this dear, hope your friend too loved this write:)
mothers really love their children. if we think our mothers sustain our lives since we are in their womb. i can say that mothers are our greatest companion and a greatest friend God has given to us. good poem for children to let them know the love of their mothers and also their fathers to them.

Love of mother that involves happy pain of motherhood is unconditional.
This is divine , most powerful and never ending.

Well this just reached right into my heart and tugged - hard. Lost my own mother five years ago and after the fourth year became able to resume a life with her memory rather than her absence. This is truth. She guides me every day. Words imparted which will be forever part of who I am today. Never severed and to be reunited one day. (My believe anyway).. Thank you for a beautiful piece.

I've not read such a moving account-expeirnce-observation of mother and child unity. Sincere, persuasive, moving and beautifully drafted. Wonderful thanks.

Our best wishes and hopes often collide with reality... this is a reality that is seldom broken - but life happens.
