The Mother, The ChildA Poem by Bobbie CoelhoI used to think when a mother had passed over The holding chain on the anchor of life which held you tight Had forever gone But I am so wrong!. Oh so wrong! Nothing wipes that bond which starts at birth With a mother’s wondering look At her perfect child As she traces the face of the Most talented babe ever to walk the earth The bond that unites both Mother and child will always be So strong They may cut the birth cord But the job has been done by then Nothing can break it Not even death The anchor just sinks further down Into the loved one’s breast Ready to offer support and help At the child’s behest The love that nothing can move Is heaven blest.
