Dad please hold my hand

Dad please hold my hand

A Poem by Bianka Tanori
"

a child who see's the pain

"
Dad please hold my hand for I have so much to learn,
Don't walk so fast Dad, for my little legs can't keep up.
Dad, stay a while longer so you can teach me to catch a ball.
Dad, put down the phone and tell me about when you were a kid.
Dad, you don't understand I am still little and want to be like you,
but you are walking too fast.
Dad, I don't like it when you keep saying you will be home
and you don't show up.
Dad, I don't like it when you make mom cry.
Dad, I always wanted to be like you
until I noticed that you didn't care that I couldn't catch up to you.
My little feet will not always be little
and my little hands will not always be small,
but I know Dad that you will miss them when you finally realize
I was watching you all along.

its good. the focus on being a parent is a weird choice to write about in my opinion but i think thats because i am not yet a parent. you should make a poem about a more unique topic. like fiction or maybe about love. those seem to be more popular with depression caused by the cruelness in this world due to drugs, homosexuality, and gun violence which everyone seems to be experiencing the affects from in this day and age.

Melancholy.
Tragic how often--and in how many ways--we parents let our children down.
Truly heartbreaking, Blanka.
