Two Eyes

Two Eyes

A Poem by Ali Riza Kaya

Two eyes,

Owned by a devil

Saw a place

Full of oil

which meant

just money and

pleasure...

Two eyes,

Both are red,

Brought these people a pie,

Covered with democracy,

but full of lies,

hidden inside...

Two eyes,

Were  determined,

And took what they ve wanted,

Sunshine s passed,

Clouds ve arrived,

No one s seen it,

No one s realised...

Two eyes,

Woke up later,

From their deep dream

In a country

which is now a strager,

The rivers poured blood,

which once did water...

Two eyes,

Were not able to see clearly,

Anymore...

Because it was all dust

and it was stormy...

They killed the women,

They raped the orphan..

Who,never's seen her dady...

Two eyes,

So hurt and in such pain

At least your ancestors` blood,

Is still there,

running through your vains.

So someone asked,

two seconds before dying;

"Where is democracy?"

And the reply,

Simple and lovely:

"Sorry, democracy is busy!"

Two eyes,

Saw the whole story,

Up there, at some place..

He created everything,

Every single race.

One day

This game will end too,

No one can guess the winner,

only he knows

only the ruler!

Two eyes,

Then,will say:

GAME OVER!

Thanks for the nice words,I wrote this poem two years after USA entered Iraq...
Very interesting. The imagery is well done. It is a very well told point of view of live, and society, as we know it.

a chilling spin on society - what we consider democracy - what we consider as good, as justice. And I believe there will be a point when someone shouts game over.
this is a strong, well written poem

So many truths, so much bitterness and bewilderment, and, put in a fine, fine post. The 'two eyes' repetition is like the beat of a drum carrying a message

Thank you for sharing a poem that's constructed with great care and insight.

You definitely analyzed the lies and the horror that comes out of deception perpetrated against innocent human beings! Your poem is sad to read but it is the painful truth... Thank you for sharing

Salam to you :)

The pain and the depth of feeling you express is wonderful. My favorite lines:
At least ur ancestors blood,
Is still there,
running through your vains.
You've taken the reader on a journey through politics, then down the road of destruction and horror, and then it ends with a sense of finality - a that only the higher power will in the end - have the final say.

Well I like the obscurity of it. It has pin-pointed the whole powers that be as what is wrong with this planet. Yes, you do have grammatical and spelling errors, but a damn good attempt at what is revolting in this world.
